about

Born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, GROUCHO mixes multiple sub-genres of rock and includes influences that are both old and new. GROUCHO recorded their debut album with Grammy Award winning engineer Trent Bell (Flaming Lips, Starlight Mints).

The self-produced, self-titled debut album was officially released on April 10, 2016. The Ghost of Cyrus Ramsey EP was released October 1 on all streaming platforms. Groucho draws on its member’s shared love of 90s rock, stoner metal, and guitar-heavy music. Their raucous riffs and addictive melodies draw inspiration from bands like Queens of the Stone Age, Muse, and Smashing Pumpkins, among others.

Music writer Ty Clark (formerly of The Tulsa Voice) writes: “An original rock band to watch! Excited to see what Groucho does in the rock genre and in these uncertain times. They’re certainly keeping it real.” After winning the Tulsa World Opening Band Contest for The Hop Jam in 2016, Groucho took a brief hiatus and re-formed in early 2020. Original founder Dustin Howard (vocals, guitar, keys/synth) was the former guitar player for popular touring bands My Solstice and The Bourgeois. For the new EP, Groucho once again worked with Grammy-award winning Trent Bell of Bell Labs in Norman, OK
